Hello! My name is Carly Sumption and I am one of the 8th grade ELA teachers at Utica Middle School. I graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2022 with my B.A. in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in English and math, as well as a minor in English. This is my first year at Utica Middle School, and my second year teaching.
When I am not teaching, I like to read, write, drink coffee, and spend time with my friends and family.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to share my love of reading and writing with my students. I strive to help them become fluent readers, stronger writers, and effective communicators so that they can excel at whatever they choose to do in life. I'm so excited to be getting to know my awesome group of students and can't wait for a great year!
