Hello! I am Michelle Burd and I teach 6th grade Math at Utica Middle School.  This will be my 25th year of teaching.  I taught at Newton Elementary (6th grade) and Utica Junior High (8th grade) many years ago. I am so excited to be back at my FAVORITE district!  I truly missed this community.  

     My husband David and I live in Newark and have 7 children and 1 grandson. My children range in age from 27 to 15! I attended Ohio State University and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education as well certified to teach high school math. Last year I taught Algebra 2/Math 2 in the high school.

   My passions are hiking, camping, gardening in my wildflower garden, and kayaking. I spend much of my summers and fall weekends camping and kayaking on Lake Erie or area lakes.
