Welcome to Advanced English 12!  

Throughout this course, we are going to examine British Literature throughout history.  We will go in chronological order throughout the year, beginning with older works such as Beowulf, and ultimately arriving at more modern works such as Pride and Prejudice.  We will examine all kinds of writings from poems to novels and everything in between.  In addition, we will have a heavy emphasis on writings and projects.  As an advanced class, students will be expected to push themselves, and be pushed to reach new heights in the realm of English.  Ultimately, by the end of the year, students should not only have an understanding of the evolution of literature and language throughout history, but also should be more prepared for a college level English class if they are choosing to pursue higher education.
