Welcome to English 9!

Throughout the year, we will focus on the fundamentals of English that will serve as the building blocks throughout high school.  This will include the reading of short stories, as well as longer works.  We will spend a decent chunk of time reading The Odyssey, as well as Romeo and Juliet.  We will also have a heavy emphasis on creating better writers.  Specifically, we will examine persuasive and argumentative writing, and take a look at how you can convince someone else to agree with what you’re saying.  By the end of the year, students should have the foundation to support them through the rest of their high school English classes and beyond.
