With over 25 years of experience in teaching dance and coaching cheerleading, Abbie is passionately committed to helping young athletes grow and succeed. After graduating second in her class from Licking Heights, where her love for cheerleading first began, Abbie went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Akron. During her time as an undergrad, Abbie was a cheerleader on The University of Akron's Cheerleading Squad and dancer on The University of Akron's Dance Team. Following her graduation from the University of Akron, where she was also a member of the Honors College, Abbie had the privilege of dancing professionally throughout the country. At the completion of her professional dance career, Abbie returned to school to earn a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Muskingum University. She is now an Intervention Specialist at Utica Middle School. Over the years, Abbie has had the privilege of leading teams to earn top finishes and has received several choreography awards in both her dance instructor and cheer coaching roles. Balancing a busy career with being a mom to three boys who are actively involved in sports and the school musical, Abbie remains dedicated to continuously improving Utica's cheerleading program and supporting the community.
