I assign homework each night except weekends. I ask that the students return the homework assignments the next school day. If for some reason there is difficulty with the homework please write me a note on the homework paper and I will be happy to review the work with your child. Each day the students return their completed homework they receive a sticker. At the end of the month, I pass out "thank you" surprises for those students who have turned in all their homework on time.
I will take away their recess time to complete their missing homework assignments.
The homework schedule is as follows:
Monday-Reading/Math/Spelling tests Wednesday and Friday
Tuesday-Math/Spelling words
Wednesday-Ohio History/ Spelling words/Math
Thursday-Science/Spelling/Math
I do assign a daily math sheet. However the students have time to complete it throughout the day. However, the other subjects I pass out at the end of the day so that the students can practice the skills at home. Our homework assignments follow skills we have been working on in the classroom.
If the students get a 100 on their spelling test without help from the bonus work on Wednesday they do not have the take the test on Friday. However, if they do take the test on Friday and miss more than they did on Wednesday I will record the higher spelling grade.
