Quiz Bowl is an academic competition between our school and other schools in Licking and Knox County. It is open to students in grades 9-12 and practices begin in November and are held over the two lunch periods.

Two teams from different schools play each other in a match. Questions are asked in the following categories: history, math, science, English, sports, and current events. There are 3 rounds in each match and of course, the team with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

Competitions are held for two days, once in January and then again in February when all of the participating schools meet at the ESC for the day and a total of 9 games are played in the two day period. A county meet is then held in March in the evening, usually at OSU-N, where a round robin tournament is held with one school being declared the overall winner. Winners in each division and the tournament winner then have the opportunity to participate in the state Quiz Bowl event.
Students who are interested in participating should see Mrs. Grigsby and/or listen to announcements to get more information.
