Since 2012, the North Fork Local School District has ensured that our high school, grades 9-12 has been 1:1 with Apple iPads. Having iPads in each student’s hand, has been an invaluable instructional tool for our community.
It started with the vision of having a technology rich learning environment. It helps align with state standards, engages learners on a new level and better prepares our students for the digital age of the future.
The goal for mobility education is to provide real world teaching and learning into the lives of students. This will be accomplished by enhancing the process of education through current and future trends in technology. Students will be able to utilize and apply different sources of media to learn new strategies for life-long learning.
The goals for learning include the student’s ability to use multi-tasking to develop learning strategies. Students will become actively involved in their own education, which will provide the intrinsic value to learning. Students will learn appropriate collaboration and problem solving techniques to engage the process of discovery.
Goals for the future include increasing the engagement, motivation, and desire of students to become more competitive in the workforce by providing the necessary strategies to be successful for gaining the necessary skills to better prepare them for life.
