Hello! My name is Mrs. Hill. I have been teaching here at North Fork Local School District for 23 years and have been at Newton Elementary for the past 10 years. I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful community. I come from a family of teachers as well. My mother taught at Utica Elementary for 13 years. Some of you may have had her as your 3rd Grade teacher! Her name is Linda Thompson. My father was also in education. He worked as an evaluator for Columbus Public Schools, Worthington Schools and also for the Olentangy School District. My husband is also a teacher. He graduated from Utica High School, served as athletic director there, coached many sports and is now teaching at the high school.
We have a 10 year old son named Hudson and a 6 year old son named Coleson. They are very special to us. We also have two dogs. One named Hank and one named Oakley. To add to the fun we also have two bunnies named Rosemary and Duchess and a fish named Occo.
I am very happy to be doing what I love everyday. I feel that if the students are happy and excited about learning, they will do their best and reach their highest potentials. Every student is different and not everyone learns in the same way. I try to make sure that I have a variety of activities that will best fit each student's learning style. It is my goal to have the students become responsible for their own learning and to also become independent in their daily lives.
