Snow/Calamity Day P.E. Assignment

Hi Kids! :)
Below is your P.E. assignment if you ever have to learn from home because school is cancelled.*
(* These days are considered "Calamity Days" for our school district. *)

*If school is cancelled because of snow or some sort of unforeseen event/calamity, and you were scheduled to have P.E. Class on that day, please do your best to stay active by completing the assignment below.
*Remember, we should strive to exercise for a total of one (1) hour/60 minutes every day.  You can be active inside or outside.  Always ask your parent(s) or guardian when, where, and how long you can be outside in snowy or cold weather.  If you are learning from home because an unforeseen event caused our school to close (Calamity Day), I hope the weather is nice so you can get outside to exercise by going on a bike ride, speed walk, jog, play soccer, baseball/softball, shoot some hoops, etc.! :)
*Since we have used up the 5 Snow/Calamity Days that are given to us by our great state ...(O-H...I-O), we are now required to do our school work from home remotely or do assignments from the paper packets (“Blizzard Bags”) that have been sent home.  So, if you were scheduled to have P.E. Class on a Snow/Calamity Day past our allotted 5 days, here is your P.E. assignment:
INSTRUCTIONS
(K-5th Grade)
*Pick one or more of the following physical activities to perform.  Do your best to have exercised for at least 60 minutes by the end of our Snow Day.  You can choose to do all 60 minutes at once or break your exercise sessions or workouts up throughout the day.  Keep track of the number of minutes you exercise through the day on your own sheet of paper or you can use the “Physical Activity Log” I made for you.  Have fun staying active! ;)
Choose One or More:
Option #1: Shovel the snow off your driveway, deck, and/or sidewalk.
Option #2: Do physical work/chores that get your heart pumping - (carry in firewood, sweep & mop the  floors, feed and water your pets or farm animals, pick up and put away toys & other items as fast as you can, etc)
Option #3: Practice skills from a favorite sport or from the sport(s) we are working on in P.E. Class.
Option #4: Pick a H.I.I.T workout to perform.  There are “Home Workouts with Mrs.Basista” that I have designed for you on this webpage, or you can design your own workout filled with fitness exercises we’ve learned in P.E. Class.  You could also choose a workout DVD that you have at your house. :)
Option #5: If the weather permits, go outside for some exercise fun! - (sled riding, snowball fights, make snow angels, build a snowman or snow fort, take a brisk speed walk, go skiing, etc.)
Option #6: (1st-5th Gr.) - Work on your Active Fit goals if you have chosen to participate in the program.  If you have not yet signed up, maybe today is a good time to start? ;)  (www.activefit,org)
NOTE: There is Active Fit information available on this webpage.
Option #7: Other - Any other form of exercise or physical work that you’d like to do! :)

(NOTE: There are links to help you learn various sports skills, different types of H.I.I.T workouts, and Yoga workouts along the top right side of this webpage.)

*Just have fun exercising or doing some type of physical work that gets your heart pumping; for your “homework” for P.E. Class is always to try to do some sort of physical activity for at least 60 minutes (1 hour) at a moderate/medium to vigorous/high level of intensity every day! :)
