I have had the pleasure of working within the North Fork community since 2008.  My role is Elementary Student Services at both Utica and Newton Elementary Schools.   My previous positions have included intervention specialist at Utica Elementary within our great school district and also at Kae Elementary School (2003-2008) within the Whitehall City School District.  Prior to my role as intervention specialist, I served in Florida with the Pasco County School District, as a Behavior Specialist.  I worked with the Severely Emotionally Disabled at Gulf Middle School and within the Autistic unit at Fox Elementary School.
My Baccalaureate Degree was attained in Florida at Saint Leo University, majoring in Psychology.  I earned my Master of Teaching (M.A.T.) from Muskingum University, majoring as an Intervention Specialist, Mild to Moderate.  I am presently seeking an additional Master's degree in School Counseling program at Concordia University.
I am a native of Licking County and graduated from Heath High School.  I have two amazing daughters, Jessica and Tiffany, who live in Florida with their families.  I visit as often as possible to see my adorable grandchildren, Ashlynn, Hayden and Dylan.  My husband, Tim, and I share a love of history, and often visit historical sights and battlefields.  We also enjoy genealogy, hiking and hockey.

I am thankful for the opportunity to work with our wonderful North Fork Elementary students! This is my 34th year as an Educator.  After serving as a Title I Reading and Math Teacher at Northridge and here at North Fork Local, I am returning to the Elementary Student Services Department.   I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Education from Otterbein University and a Master Plus Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University.

My husband Virgil and I are grateful for the education our three grown children (Jackie, Mark and Beth) have received from the North Fork Schools. We have recently been blessed with five adorable grandchildren; Elliott, Thatcher, Camden, Trey and McKinley.  As a cancer survivor, I am honored to raise funds for research at the OSU-James Center in Columbus. In my spare time, I like to sing and play the guitar here at school and at church, travel, and work with our family at Legend Hills Orchard near Utica.

Buttermilk, The Therapy Dog!

We are excited to announce the addition of a therapy dog to both Newton and Utica Elementary Schools.  Buttermilk is a yellow Labrador Retriever and registered through Therapy Dogs International (TDI).  Dogs registered through TDI have been thoroughly evaluated for temperament and behavior.  All students will be given the opportunity to read to Buttermilk at some point during the school year.  She will will visit bi-weekly.  Then based on need and opportunity, we will increase her visits and possibly ad another therapy dog in the future.   Click on the "Photo Gallary" below to see a picture of Buttermilk!
