Biographical Information:
Hi, my name is Danielle Carter and I am one of the two 6th grade math teachers at Utica Middle School. I am super excited to get started this school year and I have high expectations for my students. Within the past ten years, I have coached both the Utica Girls' Volleyball and Basketball teams. I am involved in several organizations in the community, including being a Utica Village Council Member, the Chaplin of the American Legion Post 92 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Utica LaSertoma and Utica Church of Christ. I might have served some of you dinner before at Nick's Village Pizza because I waitressed there for over ten years. I got married last year, so if you hear someone call me Miss Doup, I just changed my name this school year, but my sister-in-law teaches eighth grade ELA, so you may still have another Doup teacher in the future. I also am expecting my first child this October, a little boy, Kliff Daniel Carter, so I might look a little bigger at the beginning of the school year than normal. This is my sixth year teaching at Utica Middle School, but I have been proud to call Utica my home for 29 years and I absolutely love it here!
I had the privilege of attending Utica from Kindergarten clear through 12th grade. I was actually the school mascot my senior year and I was very involved with sports, extra-curricular activities, and clubs during my schooling. After I graduated high school, I attended The Ohio State University of Newark, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education. I will also complete my Master’s Degree in Educational Business Administration through the American College of Education this November. I have learned so much through my teaching programs and am still learning and researching all the time, so I am always elated to put some of the practices I am continuing to find into action!
