Mr. Dean grew up in Knox, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2006. He taught instrumental music for 5 years in Pana, Illinois before coming to Utica. He has spent the last 5 years teaching instrumental music in the North Fork School District. Mr. Dean teaches 5th grade band, 6th grade band, Jr. High Band (7th and 8th grade), High School Band (9th - 12th grades). He also directs Marching Band, Pep Band, Jr. High Jazz Band, High School Jazz Band, and Solo and Ensemble Music.
High School Band class is for students in 9th - 12th grades. The class meets during 2nd period every day. Students perform as a marching band in the fall and a concert band the remainder of the year. Students perform 4 concerts per year. They include: Marching Band Concert (Fall), Christmas Concert (December), Winter Concert (March), and Spring Concert (May). Students are expected to already be able to play an instrument and read music. It's a fun time!
