Counselors' Corner

Counselors' Corner

My name is Julia Kelly, and I am the new 6th and 7th grade school counselor this year. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and social work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I am a recent graduate from University of Dayton with my master's in school counseling. Although I was a school counseling intern for the middle school last year, this is my first year as a licensed school counselor. Some of you may know me as Julia Barrows, because I graduated from Utica. I am delighted and honored to return to my community, and I am ready to start making a difference. I am looking forward to helping our students reach their goals in social/emotional learning, academic achievement, and college and career readiness!

Hello!

My name is Miss Dinah Rice, and this is my first year as the 8th and 9th Grade School Counselor at Utica. This will be my 6th year as a School Counselor, after spending the last two years at Northridge Middle School, and 3 years at Edgerton Elementary School. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology at Grand Valley State University and my master's degree in School Counseling at Bowling Green State University. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, cooking, and being out in nature. In collaboration with stakeholders, my mission as a school counselor is to deliver an effective comprehensive school counseling program that gives all students the academic, social-emotional, and college/career readiness skills necessary to be lifelong learners, creative thinkers, and caring and responsible members of society.
